THE RUSSIAN FEDERATION PRESENTED THE UNITED EXPOSITION AT THE 60TH DAMASCUS INTERNATIONAL FAIR.

The Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia was the organizer of a united Russian exposition at the jubilee 60th Damascus International Fair. The exhibition was attended by 37 Russian industrial enterprises interested in exporting products in demand on the regional market, as well as implementing business projects with Syria. The Russian delegation at the exhibition was headed by Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Georgy Kalamanov.

During the official opening ceremony of the exhibition, the Russian pavilion was visited by the Prime Minister of the Syrian Arab Republic Imad Khamis.

Speaking at the opening of the Russian exposition, Georgy Kalamanov announced the intention of the Russian side to develop, as a priority, long-term cooperation with Syria in addressing the tasks of the post-war reconstruction of the Republic.

During his working visit to Syria, Georgy Kalamanov held a number of meetings with the Minister of Economy and Foreign Trade of Syria Mohammad Al-Khalil and the Chairman of the State Commission for Planning and International Cooperation under the Council of Ministers of Syria, Imad Al-Sabouni, at which issues of boosting bilateral cooperation in the trade and economic sphere were discussed.

The Russian – Syrian business forum "Trade and Industrial Dialogue: Russia-Syria" was held in parallel with the exhibition, which includes sectoral round tables on industry, energy, agro-industrial complex, transport, communications and telecommunications.

For Russian companies, a number of B2B meetings with representatives of political and business circles of Syria are planned.

The Russian exposition which occupies 450 sq.m. includes companies in the automotive and railway industry, building materials, civil and industrial construction, transport, construction, road and agricultural machinery, pharmaceutical and medical industries, radio electronics, wood processing and a number of other industries.
